How Celine Wallace Found Healing in Ayurvedic Medicine and Started Sattva Soul

Author: Celine Wallace and Team Grove

When a personal health crisis led Celine Wallace on a transformative journey from Hollywood to the Himalayas, she discovered the profound healing power of Ayurvedic medicine — an ancient practice that changed her life forever. Frustrated by the wellness industry’s focus on quick fixes over root-cause healing, she set out to create Sattva Soul, a brand dedicated to offering pure, potent, and ethically-sourced Ayurvedic supplements. In this Q&A, she shares her inspiration, the impact of sustainable sourcing, and the daily rituals that keep her feeling balanced. Read on to explore the philosophy behind Sattva Soul and how it’s reshaping the future of holistic wellness.

At what moment did you know you had to start this
Sattva Soul? What was happening in your life at the time?

I fell into the world of Ayurvedic medicine through my own healing journey. I was suffering from crippling stress-induced seizures, and given no root-cause solution by Western medicine. I was simply told to take pharmaceuticals for the rest of my life. Determined to find a more holistic, sustainable health plan, I packed up my life as a Hollywood actress and moved to the Himalayas in India, and then to Sri Lanka where I explored Eastern healing medicine modalities.

Since I began studying Ayurvedic lifestyle practices for the nervous system and therapeutic-grade Ayurvedic herbs, I’ve been free of seizures and other health conditions, and I’ve made it my mission to share the power of Ayurveda with the world.

Today, I work with women daily in my Ayurvedic practice and support our community globally through Sattva Soul.

Before launching Sattva Soul, what frustrated you most about the
wellness industry? How does your brand address that gap?

Before launching Sattva Soul — which means “Balanced Soul” in Sanskrit — I was most frustrated about the health industry’s focus on pharmaceutical pills that hide illness instead of heal illness. Even within the natural supplement industry, many products promise instant results without addressing root causes, especially when it comes to women’s health. Overall, I found a lack of high-quality, filler-free products with ingredients that were organic, potent, and backed by time-tested wisdom like Ayurvedic medicine.

With Sattva Soul, I wanted to change that. I sought out to create a brand that had the integrity of the herbs I took in the Himalayas, and bring it to those like me who needed to heal without having to fly to the other side of the world.

We focus on purity, potency, and tradition, using the highest-quality herbs and formulations that have been used for thousands of years. Our ingredients are farmed in the Himalayas in USDA-certified organic farms and manufactured in small batches in GMP facilities, where we lab test every batch. People over profits. Quality over quantity.

What impact do you hope your brand will make on both environmental sustainability and personal health?

As an Ayurvedic practitioner and wellness expert, I believe it’s important to not only focus on nurturing our own bodies, but also nurturing one another and the planet itself. That’s why, in addition to offering organic, ethically-sourced supplements, Sattva Soul also supports the wellness community with global annual health retreats that bring us together for connection, sharing, and action.

What’s the most unexpected challenge you’ve faced as a founder?

I would say that managing the complexities of the supply chain, especially when it comes to sourcing organic and biodynamic ingredients from the Himalayas to America and New Zealand or Australia, is challenging. There are often delays in obtaining the high-quality herbs I need because organic farmers face unpredictable weather challenges and resource shortages.

What’s one thing you’ve learned about sustainability/your industry that you think everyone should know?

In the health industry, there’s still a surprising lack of regulation around supplements, which means many products contain low-quality herbs that may be grown with pesticides, chemical sprays, and additives that can compromise both their effectiveness and your health.

This is why organic sourcing, bio-dynamically grown herbs, and lab-testing is so important. Focusing on sourcing organic herbs that are grown in their natural environment without harmful chemicals not only protects your body from potential toxins, but also preserves the plant’s natural potency and therapeutic benefits.

Aside from your own, what’s one sustainable or healthier product you can’t live without?

Organic apple cider vinegar! I start every day with a glass of room temperature lemon water and apple cider vinegar with a few drops of our Sattva Soul Brain Boost tincture to kickstart my digestion and support my focus for the day. I also use apple cider vinegar to soak my daily fruits and vegetables before preparing them because it’s a natural way to cleanse and remove pesticides.

What’s one daily ritual that keeps you feeling your best?

I always take a few minutes to meditate. It centers my mind and reduces stress, allowing me to tackle the day with a sense of clarity and balance.

What’s the last thing you do before bed?

Before bed, I make sure to avoid devices for at least an hour, which allows me to wind down. I do some evening pages, writing down all my thoughts and feelings from the day as a kind of “sleep dump” to clear my mind. Then, I settle into bed with a good book to help me relax and prepare for sleep, before taking 2x Sattva Soul Ashwagandha and Bioperine capsules for a deep rest.

After a tough day, what’s your favorite way to reset?

Have a sauna or head to the beach and dive in the ocean! The simple things that connect us to nature.

What’s one sustainable change you’ve made at home that you’re most proud of?

At home, I’ve made the switch to using only recycled glass containers for pantry storage as I work toward eliminating all plastic in the house. It’s a simple swap that helps reduce plastic use and micro-toxins from plastic that can leach into our food. I also recycle all of our empty Sattva Soul bottles, repurposing them as herb and spice jars. It feels great to give these containers a second life and minimize waste in the process.

What’s your favorite sustainability hack that saves time, money, or waste?

Cooking at home for the people I love instead of getting takeout. It may not be a hack to some, but for busy folks with families, mastering the art of fast, healthy cooking makes a huge difference. You can cut down on food costs, avoid plastic containers, and make dining at home feel special. When we do eat out, it’s more of a treat to enjoy the atmosphere of a restaurant.

If you could go back to the day before you launched your brand, what would you
tell yourself?

Everything is energy, and divine timing plays a huge role in the journey. So, savor every moment, because each step is part of the bigger picture.
